The 16570 is the best 5 digit sports model rolex ever made IMHO (I actually think it’s the best sports model they ever made period). Tougher than a sub (no moving bezel) plus gives you the GMT function.

I was first dead-set on a Rolex GMT Master 116710LN. I loved the GMT function and even was initially enamored with the ceramic bezel. However, it's size and flashiness just wasn't for me. I wanted a black dial, none drilled case/solid endlink 16570 but did not want the engraved rehaut. That narrowed my search down to ~ 2003-2006 year examples. I suggest doing the same and seeing which iteration meets your needs. I recently purchased a Rolex Explorer II 16570 (2010, G Serial, 3186) on Ebay and wanted to get more opinions on authenticity. It passed the Ebay Authenticity check at their Authenticators and is on the way to me. The 16570 fits the bill size size and is a tool watch which suits my retired lifestyle. The polar dial is an eye catcher so I decided on embarking on a quest for a late model version in good shape with B&P.
