Jack Swigert was an expert pilot and NASA astronaut, most famous for his role as command module pilot for Apollo 13, the moon mission of 1970. Like many NASA astronauts, he also wore a Rolex GMT Master Pepsi.
On 11 April 1970, the Apollo 13 mission left Earth on a voyage that was to be the third American moon landing attempt. Command module pilot Jack Swigert took with him a watch dear to his heart: a GMT-Master, which he wore throughout the mission, like a good-luck charm. Jack Swigert used his own watch on the 1970 Apollo 13 mission, Stuart Rosa did the same on Apollo 14 in ‘71, and Ron Evans wore his on Apollo 17 the next year.
